This journey called life has many roadblocks. Racial trauma is a common roadblock for
many Black men because it can create a constant pattern of struggling to survive.
It is challenging to create the life you desire when you have to fight for the right to live.
Racial trauma has a negative effect on your mental, physical and spiritual well-being.
It can contribute to depression, stress, hypertension, hopelessness, and lack of
career advancement due to microaggressions in the workplace.
It can make you feel “stuck”, and become a roadblock to the building of your legacy.
How can you start healing from racial trauma so you can build your legacy?
Here are some tips to help you on your healing journey:
- Start journaling on a regular basis to help you get your
thoughts out of your head and onto paper.
- Practice mindfulness. This includes being mindful of what you
consume mentally through mass media.
- Be intentional about learning from other Black men who
can inspire you as you build your legacy.
- Practice radical self-care to improve your mind, body and spirit.
- Invest in therapy to help you heal from trauma.
- Identify and eliminate limiting beliefs created by systemic racism.
- Find a support group that provides a safe space for you
to share your concerns and accomplish your goals.
As you focus on your healing you will also create a legacy of healing
for future generations of Black men. The importance of building a legacy
is covered in The Art Of Reinvention For Black Men Masterclass,
