Hello Radical Rechargers!

Yesterday, you took a brave step by getting clear on your financial snapshot.
Today, we’re building on that foundation with budgeting – not about restriction, but about intention.
A budget is your money map, guiding your income to align with your goals and values.
Why Budgeting is Your Superpower: Budgeting gives you control. It helps you see where every dollar goes, identify areas where you can save, and ensure you’re making progress toward your financial independence goals. It’s a tool for empowerment, allowing you to direct your money instead of wondering where it went.
Today’s Radical Recharge Action: Choose Your Budgeting Method
There’s no one-size-fits-all budget. Find a method that resonates with you:
- The 50/30/20 Rule:
- 50% for Needs: Housing, groceries, utilities, transportation, minimum debt payments.
- 30% for Wants: Dining out, entertainment, hobbies, new clothes.
- 20% for Savings & Debt Repayment: Building your emergency fund, investments,
paying down high-interest debt above the minimum.
- Zero-Based Budgeting: Every dollar is assigned a job (expense, saving, debt payment) until
your income minus your expenses equals zero.
This gives you maximum control.
- The Envelope System (Cash Stuffing): For variable expenses like groceries or entertainment,
withdraw cash and put it into physical envelopes. When the cash is gone, that’s it for the month.
Great for visual accountability.
Choose one method, even if it’s just for this week, and start tracking your spending
according to your chosen categories.
Tomorrow, we’ll dive into practical tips for making your budget stick.
